Kids quip(s) of the day...

Yesterday, after feeling tired from running around after the kids all day and making paper flowers with them, I sat down to rest for a few minutes and Julie explained to Edie, "When Moms & Dads have been working all day, they need to rest because their bodies get tired from working all the time..." Makes it sound as though we are ANCIENT!!!! LOL!!

Kids quip(s) of the day...

Edie used to say something that I just remembered last night - don't know where it came from or what it meant but it was quite cute: 'Aboomiedye'... (?) :)

Fun in a box...

We bought veggies from our not-so-local veggie shop the other day and Kael decided to climb into the box they give you to carry all the groceries in when we got home :) Who needs expensive presents?! Kids and boxes - something amazing about the combination!
And with Kael's FIRST birthday just over 2 weeks away, he's started trying to walk. He took his first steps on Wednesday. He's still not confident enough to try more although you can see that he wants to. It'll be awesome if if does start walking by his birthday!

Having fun playing doctor.

Yes, it's possible! The kids were all playing a very clean and quite sweet version of 'doctor' the other day :) Gotta love 'em!

Kids quip(s) of the day...

Julie used to tell us, when we said 'Love you', "Wuvee too" :)

When we first moved up to Jo'burg, we stayed in the same building as my mom. This was from when Julie was 19 months old until Jordy was 6 weeks old and Mom moved closer to her work. Whenever mom came home from work, Jules would run up to her door, or walk home with her and all she would say was, "Lips". Now, you have to know my mom to fully understand what this meant... Mom LOVES her lipstick and (sometimes) wears rather bright colours. Julie, being a little girl, just loved this and so all she wanted from her Granny was "Lips"... :)

Kids' quip(s) of the day...

Ok, as Paul & I were chatting about the kids & funny things they've said, the other night, we remembered some really good ones from Jordy:
  1. Around the time he was about 2, we used to watch the movie, Prince of Egypt a fair amount so when he'd get cross, the ultimate insult to us would be, "You're the Prince of Egypt!!"
  2. Also, when he was about 2, he used to tell us that he was "Stalkerman". We thought it a bit weird that he'd make up a strange superhero with that name but left it until one day... We were watching Toy Story and it dawned on me what he was actually saying -> Star Command! As in, "Come in Star Command" :)
  3. When we go on long trips, we stop to stretch legs and Paul usually gets the kids to do some other stretching exercises. For some reason, Jord would lift his shirt, push his belly out and say, "Shookai". To this day, I don't really know what it means but all I can think of is that it was his interpretation of when Paul said, "Touch THE SKY"

Kids quip(s) of the day...

Julie - (I just loved this!) This year, when Paul takes her to school in the mornings, their route takes them past the Randburg Magistrate Court and Paul's been telling her about it -> what goes on there, why we have it etc. So this morning, on the way to see my mom (Family Day of Easter weekend) she asked us if we were going past "The Majesty's Court" :D :D

My boys in the bath :)

Just bathed both boys & this is how they were sitting, playing. What an awesome blessing to have two amazing, gentle, loving sons!

Kids' quip(s) of the day...

Last night I was remembering some of the names the kids have called us (variations of Mom & Dad).

Julie used to say I was Mommyette and Paul was Daddyette (like she is Juliette) :)

Jordy used to say Mommya and Daddya – and the reason this is so interesting to me is that Mark & Tania’s son, our nephew and our kids’ cousin, Warren, used to call Tania Mommya. He and Jordy are 6 years apart so Jordy wasn’t around when Warren used to say this...

Edie said Mommymia and Daddymia (after watching Mamma Mia at one of Julie’s friend’s houses a couple of times) :)

And... to top it all off, Kael has now (as of this week) started calling Paul, Dadda! Yay, he’s really starting to communicate with words – it’s so cool!
